An Overview of Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich Programs – Fall 2015

Henry (Hank) R. Minchin Jr., of Greenwich, CT, has served as managing director with Credit Suisse in New York City since 2000. Beyond his professional activities, Hank Minchin, supports a number of local CT organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of America.

The Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich offers programs in a wide variety of areas, ranging from leadership clubs to multiple college scholarship offerings. The Boys and Girls Club children’s programs include beginner swimming lessons, performing arts and creative writing classes, and an array of sports and athletics opportunities.

The club is perhaps most valued for its after-school academic support offerings. Its academic programs not only assist children in the development of their basic educational abilities, but also teach kids the academic advantages that can be gained from technological resources. The club also provides character development services and programs that cover topics as diverse as community involvement and cultural identity.

The club additionally hosts fun events, such as its Halloween party scheduled this year for October 23, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and its Thanksgiving Feast, planned for the evening of November 24. Members can also enjoy a pancake breakfast the morning of December 12.

Additionally, the club hosts a range of athletic activities, from basketball to table tennis. Beginning on October 24, the club will sponsor a Learn to Skate Clinic for first through eighth graders. The nine-week program will occur on Saturdays for first through fifth graders and on Mondays for sixth- through eighth-grade students.
