The managing director of Credit Suisse’s investment banking division and a resident of Greenwich, CT, Henry “Hank” Minchin Jr. has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry. A graduate of Gettysburg University, Hank R. Minchin supports several charitable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich (BGCG), CT.

Providing a safe place for children and young adults to learn the principles of caring, productivity, and community responsibility, BGCG was established in 1908. Affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the organization hosts six camps and several fundraising events each year. Additionally, BGCG offers a wide range of kids’, teens’, and adults’ programs, from academic support and character development to nutrition and athletics.

Through the Youth of the Year award, BGCG has annually recognized an outstanding young person for his or her leadership and personal growth since 1969. Open to high school students who have been club members for at least two years, the award requires applicants to submit an essay on the ways in which the club has impacted their lives. Applicants are also judged for their public speaking ability and academic performance, among other criteria. After being named the Youth of the Year, winners compete at the state, regional, and national levels, through which progressively larger scholarships are awarded.
