The Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich (BGCG) has been helping local children reach their potential through a number of programs for more than a century. One of the many activities offered by the organization is summer camp. Camp spaces are limited and are open only to children who are currently registered as a member of the club. BGCG currently maintains three summer camp programs that are licensed by the State of Connecticut, including Camp Simmons, an outdoor camp designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12.
Located on Lake Avenue in Greenwich, Camp Simmons covers 77 acres of pure wilderness. The camp hosts 10 weekly sessions between the months of June and August, and each week costs $150 per child. Campers have access to a wide variety of activities, including archery, canoeing, swimming, arts and crafts, and summer reading. Beyond these activities, Camp Simmons encourages campers to participate in its various themed days and special events. The camp has a Christmas in July special event and Soccer Olympics along with several others.
